Presbyterian offering COVID-19 vaccines for young people

May 19, 2021 Featured In the News

Now that the COVID-19 vaccine is available for more young people, many parents say it means a chance for their children to return to a more normal life.

Several Presbyterian locations across the state, including Albuquerque, Santa Fe, Ruidoso and Socorro, are now providing the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine for 12-17-year-olds.

Free, convenient appointments can be scheduled at the NMDOH vaccine registration site, at vaccineNM.org.

The Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine is the only one available for individuals under 18. Vaccinations for New Mexicans under age 18 require parental consent. At Presbyterian locations:

  • Patients ages 12-15 must be accompanied by a parent/guardian/adult caregiver, who can sign a consent form.
  • Patients ages 16-17 can present for the vaccine with a parent/guardian/adult caregiver provided they have a consent form signed by a parent/guardian/adult caregiver.
